#NOMOREWAR Cluster Bomb use in Karabakh!What is happening in the crisis in the Caucasus?Amnesty International warns of cluster bomb use in Karabakh.Fighting over Karabakh has caused death & destruction.Families have been displaced from their homes and flee to shelters.Amnesty said combatants in an escalating conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan were using cluster bombs.International community needs to call for the protection of civilians who are highly vulnerable to the indiscriminate destruction wrought by the weapons.The use of cluster bombs in any circumstances is banned under international humanitarian law.Cluster bombs are inherently indiscriminate weapons that inflict suffering for civilian populations years after their use and are internationally banned by a treaty backed by more than 100 states.Both Armenia and Azerbaijan should immediately become parties to the Convention on Cluster Munitions!The Convention on Cluster Munitions prohibits all use, stockpiling, production, and transfer of cluster munitions.Cluster munitions scatter hundreds of bomblets, or submunitions, over a wide area. It is estimated that between 5 and 20 percent of cluster bomblets fail to explode.
