Special, marvelous fashion exhibition that is currently at Kensington Palace.

Kensington Palace hosted the largest-ever fashion exhibition “Crown to Couture”, which looks at Georgian court looks to contemporary red carpet high fashion. The exhibition, features over 200 individual pieces, from ball gowns to court suits to handbags and jewelry.

One-of-a-kind creations worn by Lizzo, Katy Perry, and Lady Gaga et al. are juxtaposed with outfits worn by 18th-century movers and shakers in the State Apartments.

Fashion is an art. To create a beautiful fashion it takes a deep understanding of the history, culture, and art. Fashion can be a statement. It can serve a higher purpose. Therefore we should never underestimate the power of fashion.

The exhibition opens with Audrey Hepburn’s Oscars dress. Then you can see the historic dresses and jewelry next to the iconic dresses and creations from the red carpet through the decades – gowns from the Oscars and Met Gala.
