Angelika Jarosławska Sapieha received a special medal “Star of Cambodia” from the United Nations Transitional Authority in Cambodia (UNTAC) for the long-standing humanitarian advocacy and support for Cambodia and support for demining action in Cambodia

Beautiful, majestic Cambodia has reserved a part of my heart forever.
Hundreds of humanitarian meetings with Cambodian people, landmine survivors, members of the Cambodian Royal Family, demining teams, Peace Nobel Prize winners, Blue Helmets, monks, humanitarians, and all the people of good heart. Walking through the minefield was just the beginning.Since that moment, I have spent thousands of hours on anti-landmine global advocacy around the globe with many world top humanitarians.
We organized several events at the United Nations dedicated to the global demining action, mine awareness, and campaign that I initiated – One Mine One Life, which supports and stands for all the Demining teams around the globe. Now Cambodia has another SDG – Cambodia mine/ERW free. Our dream is the global SDG – A Mine Free World. As a patron of Cambodia Landmine Museum, Landmine Relief Fund, and Cambodia Self Help Demining for many years my priority is to draw attention to the work of demining teams and attract to them necessary support.
Our dream is a mine-free world, without any more children maimed by landmines. We are currently preparing a documentary film „In the Land of Mines” to tell the unique history of Cambodia.
The world is too little aware of the suffering of landmine victims. In June 2022 I was deeply honored to receive a special medal “Star of Cambodia” from the United Nations Transitional Authority in Cambodia (UNTAC) for the long-standing humanitarian advocacy and support for Cambodia and support for demining action in Cambodia.
I am publishing information about it for the first time today as an excuse to thank all the wonderful humanitarian and quiet heroes that I met on my path for their invaluable work and dedication.

To Cambodia,
With Love

Angelika Jarosławska Sapieha
