The Blessing of the Christ the King Monument in Trzęsiny

On June 22, 2025, a remarkable event took place in Trzęsiny — the solemn blessing of the Christ the King Monument. The ceremony took place during the parish festivities at the Church of Saint John the Baptist, nestled in the charming, historic surroundings of the wooden church and the centuries-old Zamoyski estate.
Trzęsiny holds a special place for pilgrims journeying through the Roztocze region, following the trail of Saint Anthony.
The benefactor of the monument is Angelika Jarosławska Sapieha, who donated this exceptional sculpture to her native land — Roztocze. The statue was crafted in Chicago by esteemed sculptor Leonard Szczur, an artist whose works grace the Vatican and some of the world’s most iconic cathedrals and sacred sites around the world.
The creation of this impressive work of art spanned more than two and a half years. Meticulously shaped using advanced metalworking techniques, the statue was designed to endure for generations. Following its completion, the sculpture embarked on a transatlantic journey, symbolically connecting continents, before arriving at its permanent home in Trzęsiny — a place steeped in history and spiritual heritage.
The statue of Jesus Christ, a unique work of art, was meticulously handcrafted with the utmost precision and attention to detail.
This unique statue of Jesus Christ, sculpted entirely by hand with remarkable precision and craftsmanship, now stands as a beacon of faith and unity.
Thanks to the personal initiative and generosity of Angelika Jarosławska Sapieha, this monumental figure will now welcome the faithful and pilgrims at the threshold of the historic church in Trzęsiny, becoming a lasting symbol of faith, hope, and cultural heritage for generations to come.
