Today the Ukrainian President is visiting Warsaw in Poland.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has crossed the border into Poland for his first formal visit since Russia’s invasion started in February 2022. The President of Ukraine thanked the Polish people for their open hearts.
Poland has taken in more than a million Ukrainian refugees.
It is estimated that Polish families have hosted 1.6 million Ukrainian refugees in their homes since the invasion.
77 percent of the Polish population was involved in helping Ukraine and refugees.
Over 200,000 schoolchildren from Ukraine attended Polish schools
Today I’m posting for the first time the pictures from March a year ago.
Warsaw’s main train station, which became a hub for Ukrainian refugees, where many wonderful volunteers, also from our team, spend weeks supporting Ukrainians who fled the hell of war.
The people of Poland have shown extraordinary generosity in welcoming refugees from Ukraine. Polish families simply had waited there with their hearts open to welcome the Ukrainian refugees to their homes.
At some point, over 2 million refugees had stayed in Poland and most of them were hosted as guests in private homes by Polish people.
That is why in our country we didn’t have any refugee camps.
War is the worst thing on Earth.
We should do everything in our power to stop children suffering, violence, and bloodshed suffered by innocent civilians.
